I like the flat black !
But then, as you can see, I'm abit partial to it! lol
BTW....found a zx9r motor today!! I just need to find out how to identify what year it is befor I buy it! Any clues as to how I can find out?
OH, my tires look the same as yours, but with less virgin rubber on the sides, but then again, I don't have an extended swingarm on mine either! Makes a big difference, don't ya think. Any way who really cares , as long as you enjoy the ride, right!?!

OK.I guess telling someone with your mentality about the 7R's heritage and pedigree, the hard fought victories acquired by Scott Russell and Doug Chandler.. not to mention the brave men who gave life and limb in the quest for chassis and suspension development is, quoting the biblical term " Casting pearls before swine" . Hey, if you want to look like a clown go ahead, it's your image...but don't forget to don your baggy white with red polka dots suit, and big red floppy shoes when riding that thing...just to complete the look.
FYI..here's what the ZX7R REALLY is:
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Kawasaki ZX-7R and 7RR)• Learn more about using Wikipedia for research •Jump to: navigation, search
Kawasaki ZX-7RR Derived from the more race-oriented ZXR-750, the ZX-7R was Kawasaki's attempt to make a "Race Replica" superbike available to the motorcycling public.
The motorcycle is a 749 cc in-line four cylinder four-stroke capable in standard form of speeds of over 160 mph (255 km/h). Braking and suspension have been influenced by technology developed on the race tracks and have resulted in a motorcycle of prodigious stability and reliability. The basic model has remained unchanged for eight years from its inception to its last production run in 2003.
The ZX-7RR differs from the road model somewhat, having an adjustable head-stock angle, alloy tank, swing arm and larger capacity flat-side carburetors. It also has a close ratio gear-box fitted as standard and different front calipers.

[edit] Racing Legacy
"It seems a little hard to believe in this modern age of super-light, ultra-powerful motorcycles, but the comparatively heavier and somewhat tankish 7RR was the unquestioned king of the AMA for the better part of the '90s. The bike brought Kawasaki into an era of awe-inspiring dominance at the hands of riders such as Scott Russell and Doug Chandler, whose combined efforts resulted in an amazing four AMA championships over a period of seven years. Russell also took the Kawasaki 750 to the Superbike World Championship, where he silenced all the critics with his historic 1993 WSB championship. The ZXR750/ZX7RR, for the greater part of the decade, was the quintessential high-performance motorcycle. Its impact on racing and even modern culture was so great that, even to this day, most sportbikes -- Kawasaki or not -- are referred to as 'Ninjas' by the general public." - Excerpt from the Article 'Appreciating Older Sportbikes' by Tim Kreitz
The real pity is that a 7R deserves better than being turned into some bizarre contraption appearing to have its roots based in a 19th century agricultural device.

what are you talking about a MAN you are nuts you come out of left field with crap huh?? what does this have to do with this topic go to a forum that you can cut and paste your replys about the history of a bike in i got one for you.....
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Idiot is a word derived from the Greek ἰδιώτης, idiōtēs ("person lacking professional skill," "a private citizen," "individual"), from ἴδιος, idios ("private," "one's own").[1] In Latin the word idiota ("ordinary person, layman") preceded the Late Latin meaning "uneducated or ignorant person."[2] Its modern meaning and form dates back to Middle English around the year 1300, from the Old French idiote ("uneducated or ignorant person"). The related word idiocy dates to 1487 and may have been analogously modeled on the words prophet[3] and prophecy.[4][5] The word has cognates in many other languages.
History
"Idiot" was originally created to refer to "layman, person lacking professional skill", "person so mentally deficient as to be incapable of ordinary reasoning".[6][7] Declining to take part in public life, such as democratic government of the polis (city state), such as the Athenian democracy, was considered dishonorable. "Idiots" were seen as having bad judgment in public and political matters. Over time, the term "idiot" shifted away from its original connotation of selfishness and came to refer to individuals with overall bad judgment–individuals who are "stupid". In modern English usage, the terms "idiot" and "idiocy" describe an extreme folly or stupidity, its symptoms (foolish or stupid utterance or deed). In psychology, it is a historical term for the state or condition now called profound mental retardation.[8]
or better yet
Stupidity is the quality or condition of lacking intelligence, as opposed to being merely ignorant or uneducated. This quality can be attributed to both an individual or a person's actions, words or beliefs, or those of a group.
As an English word, it implies that the attributed party is not mentally retarded but rather is willfully ignorant and/or unintelligent, and displays poor use of judgement or insensitivity to nuances.

Troglodite... I'll bet your IQ pegged at 85. Were you asleep during primary school grammar? Are you even aware of basic punctuation? Capital letter at a sentence's beginning? A product of the public education system perhaps?
Obviously I over estirmated your ability to comprehend folly or accept enlightenment... My mistake. That ol' biblical quotation once again rears it's head...
I'd proffer an insult here, but why expend the effort when it will pass beyond recognition anyway. Oh wait, it's Haloween and you're probably out 'trik or treating' on the clown machine.. Well, don't eat too much candy before bedtime..
Seriously though, thanks for the comic relief.. Its been fun.

Actually Beckre, It was I who gave the parting salutation...or salvo if you will.
But, thanks for the kindness of your reply. Somehow, I expected it to witty...or at least half so.
FYI..I'm a general contractor.. one who does not blow 'shit' up. Being the 'boss' as it were, allows free time to access this generally friendly, and harmonious site. Actualy your overreaction to what was an offhanded, snide retort surprised me..you need to learn to recognize sarcasm. FYI, in truth, I visit no other forums since my interest lies only in Kawasakis bearing the ZX or ZZ prefix..but limited to those that have not been 'fucked-up'....and that free time is still valuable, too much so to spend "surfing the web" or passing idle chit-chat with you.
Bye now...and watch those fingers.

Hey wasn't this bike on ebay? I'm almost sure of it.
You have to do something about those rims though. Flat black and green don't fix.

Ray. Now I have read your posts on this thread. Ok, so you are a die hard fan for the zx7r. So what if we want to mod it. Who cares? Personally I think your remarks were quite silly.
If the guy wants a stretched chassis, than let him. Just because he may tarnish the ZX7R "Pedigree"???? Who cares again. These stretches are a fad/trend. Just be happy that a 7R is being represented in this trend.

Now,.......... lets think about that for a second. Now if I remember correctly, Doug ran a RAM single sided swing arm on his RR at Daytona. When he rode for Muzzy Kawasaki ( I have a pic of it from walking around the paddock area if you want to see it). What does that say about the "Pedigree"? Mix a pedigree with a stray? Hmmmm. Should have just left it alone with Scott Russell. lol. Again, who cares. I wonder what you think of my sssa ZX7R??? I have pics posted.

C'mon Frank..I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. You also know the 'mods' done by Muzzy did nothing to destroy the bike's handling, chassis dynamics or 'pedigree'. If memory serves me right here..Muzzy was KHI's factory team in north america..and that being the case, anything done, was by proxy, a factory improvement...AND, almost as importantly, the bike did not end up 'goofy' looking.

911 is the shit!
when i grow up i want to be just like 911ray, all knowing, giant penis, and hardcore racer who is pretty much perfect in every way. i'll spend most of my time cruising the boulevard skeeming on 17 & under chicks and goto starbucks with the wall street journal, which i'll pretend to read why skeeming some more and using my expensive toys to get me laid by confused, underage, and "misunderstood" girls.
o, and btw, you should paint that 7R the original green! it's a 7R man! if you're doing it on a little budget (are you?) you... should go with... gloss? maybe add some white stripes? maybe maybe maybe... i had my bike that way for awhile! it's too bad 911 is a pretentious, bigoted, douche that destroys post! sorry beckre! have fun riding however and whatever you want!
to each his own!
