Went with 2 of my buds to CMP this past saturday, one on an r6 and one on a zx7. had an absolute blast, this way my first track day and im proud to say i did not crash! both of my friends did tho haha they were ok just scratched up plastics and broken shifters. i need to work on my form a good bit, and build up my balls a little as far as braking at the last possible second to carry the best corner speed after the straights. they were only taking pictures in 2 of the turns and they happened to be my less flattering turns. didn't get a knee down i was just mainly focusing on getting off the seat and trying not to crash. i see im a little crossed up in some, and my upper body is a little to high up and my elbows are all over the place. anyway im looking for whatever tips and advice i can get from guys that have their form down pat. thanks!

Looks like it was fun. Pics turned out really well. Can't help you with track form though. sorry.

Looks like a lot of fun. I wish I could get my 07zx6r on the track. I had my 2001 zx6r on the track a bunch of times! For your first trackday, I wouldn't say your form is that bad. Kiss the mirror is a term you might here from some other guys, you just need to get your body of the bike a little bit more and a little bit lower. Your upper body is a little high. The farhter you can get off the bike and lower you can go, the harder you can corner. It extends you lean angle with speed the better you can get your weight off tot he cornering side. I bet you feel like you got 100x better once you got back on the street after that track day!

although i havent done a track day yet.. in a few of your pics you didnt look like you were on your toes more ball then toe.. and try to keep your head closer to the mirrors and body to the bike.. if you have adj. rearsets adjs em forward and up and it should help you keep ontop and forward of the bike.. you asking for pennies so theres mine. nice pics too =) i hope when i get my pics from my trackday whenever i go someone gets me some good input lol

you had to take ur mirrors off? i would love to know what all you had to do to the bike to make it track ready
and i see your kickstand is also gone.. how did you get around the kill switch?

Your body position looks almost painful. You seem like your nuts are on the tank. Get your ass back in the seat, and tuck in lower. When leaning off the bike, you should be on the balls of your feet. Also, you should be hanging off more, with ur butt barely on the seat (if at all). And your body should be low, with your head about the same level as your handle bars.

But everyone is different, thats just what works for me. Its like anything else, the more experience you get, the more things will fall into place. You will also develope your own riding style, for what works for you. The biggest thing that helps is confidence. And the more you ride (especialy on the track) and get your technique honed, you will start to discover you can get more comfortable (and faster) by adjusting things on the bike; such as rear set position, ride height, clip-on/lever position, and so on.
