Oil pressure light flutters???

lets see if you guys can follow this. I got an 06 636 boght it used with 5800 miles on it.I changed the oil in it after I got it with no probs. Then at like 8500 and half way through putting the oil in I noticed I grabbed two diff oil weights Ithink 20-50 and the correct10-40.so I called afew peps and no one thought it would hurt so i ran it idled fine reved find gave it a whip all fine.I ride 2-3 times a week so about 3 rides later I notice as I slowed for a stop th e red oil light fltueering then it started stalling. I figured the oil diff was bad and changed it again w\o the filter. it still does it but only with the clutch engaged and the brakes on?

thanks in advance for any input

It sounds like a stupid question...but, are you sure it's filled to the correct level? It sounds like you're starving for oil when braking. It's could be that or your pickup is clogged or not picking up for some reason.

I sounds like the oil senser is going out or your filter is cloging up change the filter and see.I had my gsxr 750 do that and the oil pump housing was cracked. 20/50 is way to heavy for your bike stick with 10/40.

It almost sounds like it is trying to stall. What is your idle RPMs set at? It sounds like when you are stopping it is dropping the RPMs so much that it is trying to stall. Do you push the throttle forward also? That could also lead to it trying to stall. If the oil level is fine, I wouldnt think it would be getting that low then when stopping.

Im not sure how the clutch being pulled in or brakes on would affect it how much oil did you put in it I have a 06 636 also it calls for 3.8 quarts with oil filter replacement but I put in 4 quarts even because 3.8 never seems to fill it up to level I want. The engine has a crank case breather that goes to the air box so if u add a little bit to much oil it will spit it out and burn it up in the engine.
