synth to conventional?

I bought my bike not too long ago, so when I changed the oil upon purchase I put the Repsol synthetic in it because I didnt know what was in the bike already. From what I understand you cannot go from synthetic to conventional, so to avoid that I just used that Repsol. This caused my clutch not to be as sticky when engaging. I hear that Mobil 1 has the 4T wetclutch oil, and AMSoil is great. Will these oils help the clutch slip>

confused

you can switch back and forth but i think its preferred that you stick to one. i've read many that many people have switched back and forth. as long as the oils are motorcycle oil it should be fine to switch back to dino.

Avoid oils with "friction modifiers". These will have an "energy conserving" sticker on the label. The f-ms are what cause clutch slippage in motors with common gearbox/crankcase lubrication. 4T motorcycle oils also have anti-shear additives that help them withstand viscosity breakdown that results from meshing gears. Clutch slippage is considered to be a problem rather than a desired trait.

I use amsoil and never have a prob.I run 10-40 in my zx7 and 20-50 in my harley. When i put it in i could tell right away a big change. My bikes ran smoother and cooler.I used to run moble1 and the other top brands but amsoil smokes them all.I have been ridding and working on bikes for 25 years and used all the oils.Amsoil is the best i ever used.P.S Amsoil will not slip the clutch its got wet clutch additives in it read the back of the bottle. Just my 2 cents.

You can go back and forth between synthetic and petroleum any time. Although it is better not to switch oils all the time.

AMSOIL has a JASO MA 2 Rating. The Highest Clutch performance rating available today.

As far as friction modifiers.. All oils have them and you need to look at the labeling to see if it is acceptable for a Motorcycle... Look for Labeling similar to this.
API SG, SL/CF • JASO MA/MA2 • API GL-1

Notice more than one API Rating... The critical one is SG .. An automotive oil can be used as long as it has an SG or JASO MA rating.. A higher rating such as SL DOES NOT Automatically Supercede SG

Critical... SG/SH.. And/Or JASO MA
