race or not

hey all does any one have a suggestion for a good brake fluid to use for a 2000 zx 9 I'am tired of using the crappy cheap stuff also in process of putting stainless steel cables on any help would be appreciated thanks

Any good brand of DOT 4 spec brake fluid should do. I doubt if you can use DOT 5 without risking damage to seals in the calipers and master cylinders.

motul rbf 600 is good stuff. you'll have to change it out a little more often than normal though. that and steel lines are more than enough stopping power for most people.

hey thanks for the help , i was recommended a race fluid named wagner 5.1 the salesman said it is mixable with dot 3 &4 did either of you guys here of it considering the motul rbf 600

never heard of it. I'd be careful putting anything over DOT4 in though, even if it is compatible.

valvoline synthentic dot4...cheap, available at any autoparts store and very good boiling point.

the dot 5 silicone stuff blows....don't use it.

valvoline synth is good, or if you want to go all out and splurge, get castrol SRF.. at $80 a quart.. it is the absolute best.. with the highest boiling point and lowest numbers on compression
