Best oil/filter?

So I'm looking to do my first oil change since I bought my bike about a month ago. My questions:

1. Which is the best brand / type of oil to use? Is it worth spending $55 on 4 quarts of synthetic Motul, or should I just get some conventional Motul or Castrol?

2. Which oil filter should I use? I've seen alot of confusing information as to what actually fits. What will work on my bike? Does the 03-04 ZX6RR use the same filter as the ZX6R?

Bike is a 2003 636. Thanks for any help!

Nothing? I was gonna use a Purolator PL14612 since I work at PepBoys. I read in a thread on here that those will work?
