Cool OIL CONSUMPTION....assuming normal?

yeah i have a 05 zx6r 636 and its in absolutely mint condition and has been kept pampered with all the goodies, i bought this second hand from an older gentleman who kept it this way..

now i have a question about the oil, first off he used the kawi synthetic 10-40 brand at about 3500 k' interval changes, now he did an oil change for me about 300 k's before i bought it off of him and i have currently put on about 2200 km's (2500 k total), i check everything out before every ride and have noticed the oil was down a little in the site glass, i had to add about 150-200 mL to get it back to around where i remembered it was when i first got it....

my main question is that i was wondering if this is normal consumption, because i on normal operation i notice no oil burnoff or smell. and im assuming this is just due to breakdown of the viscosity of the oil due to heat and friction?...can somebody please fill me in cause i am new to this and i know that cars and trucks do this and was wondering if it is normal for a bike with only 15000 k's on it..

thanks

A bike that consumes a little oil is ok, 200ml after 2200km's is not too much, a guy the other day who runs motorex 10w40, warms up his engine before riding and everything but with 20,000 km's on the clock he used up more than a full litre of oil after 4000km. As long as any smoke coming out of your exahust is white water vapor and your exhaust doesnt shoot a puff of blue/black smoke at startup or smell of burnt oil you shouldnt worry about it much.

One good aspect about an engine that consumes a moderate amount of oil is that when you top it up, you give it a fresh shot of additives. These anti-wear and anti-shear compounds make modern oil so much better than anything made in the past. A possiblity; Your motor may be using oil by way of hardened or worn intake valve seals which are repairable without major engine teardown.
