Oil Light - not on?

For as long as I have had the bike, oil light comes on before start-up...normal. Now for some reason it doesnt come on anymore at that point. Any reason? I cant seem to find anything about it in the manual. I have 94 zx11

If when you turn your ignition on but havnt started the engine and your oil light isnt lit up it means one of three things:

1- your battery is flat (stupid suggestion but i mention it anyway)

2- you got a blown bulb or fuse

3- the oil pressure switch is broken/stuck in the pressurized state

To check if its the pressure switch you need to first find it and unplug it then turn on the ignition and try grounding and ungrounding the live wire and see if you can light up the oil light, i dunno how its done on the zx11 but ive seen switches where you have one wire which needs to be earthed to work and versions with two wires which you simply connect together.

If you can turn the light on this way it means that the switch is probably the problem, after that only real solution is swap it for a new one from kawa.

thanks for your help. Is there any easy way to just to just check to see if the bulb itself is good? I want to get to the bulb but I need a way to test it
