oil check?

Should I check the oil hot or cold? And where should the oil level be on the sight glass?

In the case of your zx-9r and most kwaks checking the oil when its hot or cold is fine either way, when in doubt i first check before starting the engine to make sure that there is enough oil before starting a bike up, most important thing is to just let the bike sit straight when checking (vertical and not on the sidestand or paddock stand).

Ideally the motor should be warmed up then switched off to let the oil rest for a few minutes before checking the sight glass. The oil level MUST be higher than the lower mark but not higher than the upper mark either either can cause damage to the bike....ideally the oil level should be level with the upper line.
