Wink oil change

sorry if this is dumb i just want to make sure i do it right to keep my bike 100% amazing,,,,i have a 2003 zx6r with 6,700 miles...at how many miles should i change the oil (ex. every 2,000 miles??) and should i get it "serviced" and if so how often....once again sorry i just want to keep it prestine

change your oil every 4k miles.

have it serviced per owners manual...(every 12k or so?)

supose it comes down to how you ride.

i change my oil every 2500 miles or after any trackday.

i do it because i abuse the hell out of her about 80% of the time i ride.

plus it always makes ya feel better knowing that YOU serviced your machine.

Yeah feeling good about servicing my own bike turned into an obsession until i eventually decided i needed to start servicing other people's bikes to keep me sane before i started changing the oil every week for no reason...

Depends on the models but in switzerland we generally service the bikes every 4k miles since practically NOONE here wants or knows how to change their own oil, so half the time we do check-ups plus an oil change.

If you already change the oil yourself every 4k miles then send it for a service every 8k or 12k miles based on what the maintainance chart says, unless of course you want to change/clean the spark plugs and filters yourself...

And yeah I do an oil change before or after any trackdays depending on when the last one was and I'll change the oil filter more often too.
