Question Filter or no filter?

Hey guys, sorry to ask what may seem to be a reatarted question to you, but I just don't know nor do I have access to a service manual for my bike. I just got a 1990 ZX10 and I am replacing the clutch plates and would like to change the oil and filter as well. The only problem I am having, is that I cannot physically see a filter anywhere. So, I guess what Im asking is does anyone know if my bike has a filter or not? And if so, where the hell is it located? Sorry if Im blind or just plain dumb, but any help would be great. Also, is there a torrent out there or does someone have access to a service manual that I can download? Again thanks for any help.

hey mate, there will be a filter, surely. have you tried searching the forum for a "service manual"?. theyre on here somewhere, i just cant off the top of my head remember where abouts! keep looking, youll find what you need. just remember to sign in first otherwise the search function is unavailable........ok i just had a look, go to the "mechanical and technical" section, its the first title. good luck.

I looked for what you said and I cant find it. I must be blind. Where exactly do I need to look to find this info out? I am replacing the clutch plates Thursday and would like to get this all done then too. I have my drivers test this next Monday and would love to be able to ride before the test. Please help a retarted repairman. Thanks.

That site is awsome if I owned any of those bikes. They have the manuals for every bike BUT MINE! I am starting to get frustrated.

Manuals and oil filters

I purchased a Clymer manual for my 88 ZX10 at the Kaw dealer for $45 . Good investment if your keeping the bike .
On my bike , the oil filter is at the right rear of the engine sump and you can see the filter housing with the securing nut in the center .
I would think that changing clutch plates would be a more involved job than changing an oil filter ! Cheers .
