Question for Amsoil
Bit of a quiz here.
I have heard many views and opinions on Oil filters.... my question is, what is your standing in regards to replacing oil filters, frequency etc. Does the weight of oil change the type of filter to use plus service intervals??

There is several good oil filters on the market and usually you can't go wrong using an OEM filter. Many people try to save money by installing a cheap filter that will srew on without understanding the potential downside of doing this. Unless you know the internal PSID by-pass setting of the OEM filter you could be using a filter that is in by-pass the majority of the time the engine is running there by getting no filtration. Most filters on the market are designed to last at least the OEM's recommended service mileage and if you use an oil that can go longer then you might need to replace the filter while leaving in the oil or use a filter such as Amsoil's that are good for twice the length of service of the OEM's filters. The weight of oil used has no bearing on what type of filter to use unless you are using something that is way off the charts and not recommended for your application.

i think my filter is broken. should i repack it with napkins? someone told me i should use brillo pads as these catch more sediment if packed right, is this correct?

I assume you are joking, but you are not to far off the mark as there has been toilet paper filters on the market for over 40 years for cars and trucks. When th eoil gets dark you change out the toilet paper.
