Is there really a need for this section
wouldnt this just be under mechanical and technical . Dont clutter the site with crap headings, it just makes it harder to navigate and inhibits open discussion with a greater audiance. I have been in forums that have to many headings and sections and it just means that people become more divided in the sections that they visit and add comment. Also it takes forever to load pages now!! without adding more sections to the process

I think a great idea would be to take this section off and have someone that knows a little something about oil n stuff and compile a list of good n bad oils, and what kinds you should use for your bike, when you should change it and switch and other important things and just sticky it to the top of the mechanical section. BTW, I like astroglide and KY.

I feel your pain, but this has been very successful on other large sites that members complained about oil related topics cluttering up the tech forums. If it doesn't work that well on this site may be we can get it removed. Take a look at the www.v-twinforum.com site and you will even see a very large oil poll section.

Now we're being prostituted to oil companies.

I call it financial support. As a forum participant on several sites over the years it was a nice ride when everything was free and no advertisers. I have been on both sides of the fence and do know where you are coming from, but it looks like advertsing is here to stay if one wants a free site.

How bout some free stickers to the guys who use your product? Ive been running AMS oil in my bike since it was new. And at $7/quart I think I deserve a sticker or two.

The person you have been buying oil from in the past should be able to give you free stickers. The next time you buy Amsoil, buy it from our group and I will make sure you get the stickers personally.

We are a group of AMSOIL dealers working together so we can afford the advertising fees of a combined 18 motorcycle sites and we are from all over the US. If you go to www.ezlubes.com you can read up on our background. When you click on one of the banners you will go to one of our dealers website and if you keep refreshing your page you can click on the banner again you will get another one. We don't handle your country from a US dealer stand point, but Amsoil is distributed in some parts of your country and if you want info on where to purchase locally e-mail me at info@ezlubes.com and I will forward your request to our international manager.

dont kid yourself buddy it doesnt cost that much to host a website/forum? this is all about sales and profit at our expense and that is all the is to it.
From this point forward i personally do not buy AMSOIL

Amsoil is here to actively participate in this community and offer information and advice. It's a win-win for the community and the sponsor. If you have any issues with this, bring them to me via PM, but posting them here is not the way to do it.

My problem is clearly stated above and at no time have I been offensive to anyone, this after all is an open forum.

So basically AMS bought themselves a forum header. Yet another reason I hate this site. I went away for a month, and thought maybe I would come back to see what's shakin', and now this. The ONLY reason I'm here is to protect my bid for President from Jester.

And BTW,
The BEST oil you can buy is Motul 3000 non-synthetic.
If you change your oil every 3-5,000 miles, you don't need synthetic. And going with "semi-synthetics" only get you about one drop of synthetic per quart.
Motul 3000 is good and cheap. Just don't be lazy with the oil changes (I just remembered I need to change mine).

A few of you seem to have a heart burn with an advertiser becoming involved in the forums. We are not taking part in the forums to shove our product down anyones throat. What we are attempting to bring to the table is expertise from the lubrication and filtration industry if anyone is interested. I myself have been a licensed mechanic for over 40 years and have been riding motorcycles since the early sixties and have had a ton of technical training regarding lubricants during that time. If some of you feel that the info we share is biased so be it, but I think most of you are smart enough to sort through that for yourself.
