I hope someone has the solution to my problem. I am working on a friends 2000 500R. I can get it started but it will not keep running, even with the chock on. It really kicks out the smoke when it does run with the trottle full on. It also shakes bad when it's running. I've taken the carb off, cleaned it out and put everything back together. I pulled the plugs and they look good. Any ideas of other things I should check before I take it to the dealer and pay the big bucks? I look forward to any help you can give me.
Now I have a different problem. Reinstalled everything, started it up, worked great for about 3 minutes, then started running rough again, and I noticed gas coming out of one of the mufflers (where there is a small rust hole). Any ideas?

Obviously there is a problem. And To be more specific, If there is gas coming out of the exhaust. That cylinder is Mis Firing or not firing, Check Plugs/wires.
