newbie and i need some help

I am new to the forum. I just got my wife an '01 250r with 12xx miles on it and the problem that I am having is a fuel problem. I rode the bike and it seems to be dripping gas from a tube that seems to be coming of the carb. to the bottom of the bike and the bike runs alittle rough it doesnt want to get up and go. The owner that had it before me said that the bike has been sitting for a while if anyone can help me that would be great thanks to all.

Welcome
Sounds like the needle and seat isn't stopping the gas flow into the carb and then it runs out the overflow tube. That would also cause it to run rough. Get a rebuild kit or take it to your favorite shop.

I just want to add, since the bike has been sitting for awhile, don't waste your time and money on gas additives or carb cleaner. Take them apart and do it right and you won't have to worry about it.
