I’m not trying to be a smart-a@@ but why? After you spend all the money to “up-grade” you still have less HP then the 500r. you could sell the 250 and get a 500 or a zx6. So to answer your question…
The quickest way to get more HP from your 250 is sell it and get a 500r.
Ps. Don’t get me wrong the 250 is an AWESOME bike, as is the 500r, but they are just that a 250 and a 500. No matter what you do you aren’t gonna make them run like a 600 or higher. They will never handle or perform like them. They weren't designed too.
Enjoy it for what it is a great 250 bike. When you want more then find a good used up-grade and ride. I know you could sell that brand new 250 and get a real nice used zx6. And if you're already looking to get more out of your 250 then you will never be happy with what you get out of it. You're not gonna be happy with a few more HP and 10MPH/KPH.

Thanks for the advise.
I have had lots of big bikes in the past R6, R1, ZX6R, the 250 is for work & back through the traffic just thought if there were any easy mods or quick gains I would be intrested.

Sorry for the long-winded responce. I just hate to see these guys trying to get the power they are wanting out of something that will never satisfy them and then their out a bunch of money they will never recoupe and still aren't happy. I had a 500r that I loved and would still have if the SUV hadn't run me over. The 250 and the 500 are AWESOME for around town and I even like the more up-right position compared to the zx6 on a long trip.
Good luck!

For the life of me, I just don't understand the continual quest for more power from a given engine. I can understand wanting to overcome gummint-mandated lean surge and flat spots in a torque curve, but fer chrissakes, these things are engineered to wring out 99% of possible bhp without sacrificing reliability. If there's anyone on here that can outride a factory 600, Id like to meet him. Lets all strive for more brainpower before we hunger for more horsepower we're too slow to use.

I have a Two bros. slip on and K&N, one makes it audible, the other makes it run a little leaner, neither really gave a noticeable power gain. Now that I've wrecked for my 1st time, I'll sell it, add whatever $$ I get from SCDOT, and get a 600. P.S. - our 250r's HATE sand/gravel!!! Enjoy the 250 for what it is, the nicest looking 60mpg commuter ever MADE!!!

hey im not tryin to be smart ass either and i use to have ninja 250 myself which i traded in for a zx6r 2 weeks ago, ALSO i did a lot of things to it to get more performance, horsepower, and make it look better like the bigger ones i spent like around $3k for everything, maintenance, aftermarket parts, labor, and after all that i still wasnt satisfied and traded in my ninja 250, look at the pics here http://www.zxforums.com/forums/zx-6r...-teh-zx6r.html
but yeah, my opinion / advice is to keep it stock, pay it off quick, dont do anything to it, leave the stock exhaust on, even if u buy the "best" exhaust for it lets say the most expensive exhaust like a $1k exhaust, it still wouldnt sound good, thats why i finally traded in my ninja 250 after all the mods and performance i did
keep it stock, pay it off quick, and get a 600! u'll regret and waste money!
