hey 250 riders.. i have a question

The wife is starting to express interest in getting a bike.... do you think a 250 is just the right bike for her to learn on? maybe keep for a long time? What are your thoughts? Also, whats the fastest you have gone on your 250?

Hard to call. Some people love them because they are very nimble and light. The suspension is very soft, not very sporty feeling but comfortable. My friend had one and got bored with it very fast. It would top out at like 85mph but it was really wound out at that speed. Comfortably do 70-75. Personally I think the ninja 500 is a way better bike. Similar size but a lot more powerful.

i just pick up a 2008 ninja 250 for my wife she loves it an i put on lowering link an bar raiser an jetted it... i pushed it to about 100mph if it was reading it rite,. so it will do for her...

I had mine at an indicated 105, seemed like it had more but I was really taxing it haha

the 08 250 was my first bike. they are fun untill you hit the highway. like someone already said 85 90mph all she got. they handle good and look an ass load better than the 07. it would perfect for your wife as long as she dont get bored with it to fast. a 500 does have just enough power to keep someone new to bikes happy but even the 08 look ugly as hell. best idea is go to a dealership and ask if they have any used bikes to test ride, sneek off and let her ride either one an see what she says
