Have a question on new 250r

My buddy is wanting to buy a new 250r, but he weights 240 and he is 6'1. I told him this bike is way to small for him, but he keeps saying he wants it for fun just to ride around by his house. He works 1 mile away from work, so he would be riding two miles to work and back and rest is play. Do you guys agree with me that this bike is to little for him? He doesnt want to go on hwy just around town. I just want to show him this before he buys into something

Thanks!

Nah, I was bigger when I was riding a 250. For what he wants it for, it would be fine.

honestly. A 250 will be fine. You can even ride 2-up on a 250 (though the shocks usually suck, as well as the single disc front brakes).

If you saw some of the lard-butts I have seen that putt around on 100cc scooters, then you wouldn't worry at all about a 250cc bike.

, I too have seen some really big guys (& gals) putt-putting on 49cc - 100cc scooters, zooming! on top of that. The suspension on the 250 does suck when it comes to passengers. When I got into an accident not too long back on my 6r, I was limping back to where I left my bike from the hospital. A guy on an 08 250r drove by and I was showing off my road rash him. He offered a ride down the block to my bike, so I took him up on that offer. I felt like I was going to fly off that thing! But I have to admit, it still was packing a punch, I thought my weight on top of his was going slow the bike down a lot, but it didn't.

I have an 08 250R and I'm 5' 9" and 225. No problems here after 3500 miles!
