Exclamation needin help 92 ninja 500

Hey guys, Ive been a long time reader here, just never posted. Well now I have run into something I cant figure out and I need to ask for help.

Recently I bought a 92 kawasaki ninja 500 from a friend who thought the motor was siezed, well it was far from seized up, i got the thing running the same night i brought it home. Although it wasnt running very good, supposedly he rode this bike daily until for some reason one day it wouldnt start for him. O the bendix on the starter was stuck so a couple of whacks with a hammer fixed that.

I rode it back forth a little bit checking it out. It shook ppretty bad and sounded like it was only running on one cylender. So I parked it. The next day i put some fresh gas in it and took it out again and in the middle of riding it, it cleared up so to speak. ran smooth picked up in speeds was more responsive throttle wise, So i was like ok kool. Then i didnt mess with it for like 3 weeks and now I cant even get it to run good enough to ride, not to mention all my gas leaked out somewhere, ill figure that out tho. but now i have to really struggle to get it started.

Sometimes the only way it will start is if i take the air filters off the carbs and put my hands over the intake to really choke it. When i do get it started i have to keep it half throttle on it to keep it running, Full throttle i get no response just putters at about 3-4thousand rpms, soon as i let off the gas it dies, wont idle, wont rev up. Im gonna go mess with it today( take the carbs off clean them out check vacuum lines and fuel lines. I just hope the floats in the carbs arent off or stuck , or they need to be dialed in cause i dont have any mercury gauges.

I will check bak later today after messing with it for a little bit and see i have any help or ideas. O yea, also i cant even pull the plugs, i dont have a long socket thats thin enough to fit in the hole. Im gonna see if i can find one today and go through it there. Any suggestions ideas or anything really will be appretiated thanks guys.

I would look for any cracks/holes in fuel lines first. I'm no mechanic, but it sounds a like a fuel delivery problem to me. Did the carbs look like they were in good shape and clean?
