2008 250r??????
Ok, who has one and what do you HONESTLY think? Also, what other bikes have you had to compare it too? I'm thinking about getting one. But, it's up in the air. Get a 08 250R or turbo my 06 GSXR1000???? I already have 2 bikes but, you can never have too many!

I have a 26 mile trip each way to and from work.....gas milage is a good excuse! Plus, something different! Also, if I end up back on the West Coast thought about track days.
Turbo??? Because it's fun suprising people. You know a guy on a Busa or ZX14! Won't expect a GSXR 1K to pull away from them!
I also thought about using it as my first bike to paint! But, I'm pretty sure my 636 is going to get that once I get back from Iraq for good.

ya, if its for gas mileage i can see that.
but you will be way way bored of it if you have a 636 and a liter bike.
i had a guy fab up a turbo for my zx6r.
wanted the only turbo ninja(my year) but then i wouldn't be able to corner or do any track days.
well, unless you turn it off.
but the turbine would be very unexpected and you might spin out mid turn.

I got to ride one at Infineon. Really fun to ride, but gutless. And if you're tall or over 130lbs the suspension gets a little floaty. the brakes are great though. stiffen the suspension and give it a little power boost and you're good to go...

Agreed - bike handles really nice and easy but is gutless; below 6 grand in particular. If your trip to work & back involves expressways or freeways - forget it. This bike is best kept on a two lane highway (with lots of twisties).

I wouldn't necessarily agree with the avoiding freeways, the 250 gets to 70 a hell of a lot quicker than the average car, but by no means would I want to do more than a 30 mile commute at 70mph, just cause riding along at 7500 rpm for a half hour would strike me as a little annoying. I do a 13 mile commute daily with mine, but it's a 55mph speed limit. After 2500 miles, I still love my 250, but I will be looking to get a ZZR 600 or something like that come next year. The 250 is a great beginner's bike and short-distance commuter. And one upside, the 250 is AWESOME on gas, 15 bucks will get me 200 miles, a hell of a lot better than a bigger cc bike!

Not sure how much mpg you could squeeze out of the '08, but I had an '02 that would get me 60+ mpg.

all i know is its got no guts if you try and pass at highway speeds +65. have to downshift twice to get any power but it will get up to that speed quick. im avraging in the low 50 mpg i have abut 15 mile comute @70-75 i like to keep up with trafic not get ran over by them. i feel if i could slow it down 20 mph i could get better mpg it might also help if i didnt wot it all the time.
