Which Upgrades For My 250 Bike?

Hey everyone, first off i'm new to the forum and actually new to riding.

I just bought a new 2008 black Ninja 250 and it doesn't come in till april. I was wondering what you guys personally think on upgrades I can do for my 250.

I have heard that some people think it's a waste to spend much money to upgrade a '250' but honestly I plan to keep this bike and upgrade to another one but still ride my 250.

I have been looking at getting a full Yoshi Exhaust system. After doing some youtube videos and listening to it, I really like Yoshi the best.

I am really seeing what you guys think about that, and any other suggestions on upgrades that I should do. It would mean alot since soon i'm going into tell them what parts I want also for them to get and put on just in time for when I get my bike.

Two Brothers makes a slip on for the 2008.
I would upgrade exhaust, change levers to Pazzo, fender eliminator, Smoked screen, seat cowl, frame slider kit and call it a day. Thats what I am doing on my girlfriends 08 250 Ninja after I got her a lowering job.

I have a black 08, and the FIRST thing to do is get a tank pad! I had mine on about 5 days after I brought it home. It protects and looks great. I am looking at getting the flushmount carbon front indicators, carbon levers, custom bar ends, some blue headlight bulbs, a Jardin slip-on, and the rear fender eliminator (to get rid of the hideous plate holder and umpteen reflectors) as soon as I find one. I like the cowl but I have my wifey on the back quite a bit, so that can wait!

How much is the tank pad? that sounds like a good idea.

I ordered my 2008 awhile back. I got a Yoshimura Slip On, and the seat cowel since I dont need to lug anyone around. As far as that goes, that's it. I'm thinking that tank protector is a good idea, i'm actually just waiting for my bike for quite sometime.

It should be in this week I believe. . . . if not im going to be kinda ticked.

I got mine from eBay for like 16 bucks after shipping...where did you find the Yoshi slip-on for it? The Jardin is like $275, and I can't see spending $500 or more on a Muzzy...

I wouldn't even bother... just save that money for when you get a 600.

I got mine from morepoweracing.com - they had the cheapest price I could find for the carbon fiber. $440.00 + Shipping but I live in Alaska so they quoted me $40 bucks for shipping which sounds like BS to me. But anyways thats where I got it from.

As for waiting for the 600. I think I'm going to definitely be keeping my 250 and upgrading to a ZZR600 later. I think the 250 would be good to have for just cruising and gas mileage and then when I want to get crazy, ill bring out the ZZR

Its never a waste of money customizing a bike that you'll be keeping, so I agree with you rabones...My bike will definitely stay with me for a couple years, when its time to upgrade to a 600, the 250 might get handed to the wife to learn on!

DomC, you worded it just right. It's kind of funny because alot of people are saying i'll out grow this bike and blah blah its not fast enough, well it's interesting to see all the truly experienced riders look at the 250 as a bike that is more sensible. How it's more fun to take a small bike to it's limit rather than getting a big bike and going slow. And honestly 250 is a place to start at or maybe even the 500 - but I'm glad I waited this long to get a bike because the new 250's look SICK.

Just thought i'd add that. I do want a 600. they look pimp too but for right now the 250 was the most reasonable priced and I think it'll be kept.

Oh i'll post some pictures up when i get mine and add some links to videos on youtube once I get my bike. DomC, i've seen pictures of your bike and it looks SIIICK!!! I just wish i had mine.
