08 250r

i have been looking at the new 250r, hopefully dealership will have a blue one soon. Anyway, my wife will be riding it most of time, but how would it run as for as gas mileage and speed with say 6' 190 lbs on it?

Depends on how you ride it. I'm about the size / weight you describe, and I get just under 50 mpg running at nearly the same speeds I run on my R1. As a point of reference my R1 gets just under 40 mpg.

Most of my riding is back roads but with some freeway mixed in. When I ride the 250 I typically keep the rpm above 9k on the back roads.

I am 6'3'' 230lb. I drove my girlfriends new 250 home from the dealer. It had no problem driving me around. I does run cold in the beginning though till it gets warm. European model has fuel injection.
If you give it some handle it will move though:)

250

yup carbed bro' Dealer said it would cost about $400 more with FI and according to the factory research, Americans wouldnt buy a $5K 250 so to keep price down they kept the carbs.

It is alright though. If it aint broke, dont fix it.

For its purpose.. are carbs REALLY that bad?

How much could possibly be gained on the 250 with going to FI?

Not much. EFI is typically used on bikes to meet emission requirements - and make for marketing purposes IMHO.

The 250 is a bargain basement product here in the US.

I was getting on average 60 mpg on my '02. It was my learner bike. I'm 6'1" about 250 so needless to say I outgrew it really fast lol. Put her to bed for an '07 10R
