pros and cons?

just want to ask what are the pros and cons on having a short and almost straight pipe?.

just want to know will this affect the engine in terms of wear and tear due to backfire?.

If ever wich among short pipe is the best in a zx9 1999 design. As you can see i my avitar we were able to fabricate pipes. Just wonder ayone could share there 2 cents. And a diagram of a pipe would greatly apprieciated.

God Bless

Expect less lowend and midrange torque. If it's been tuned perfectly then it might make up some on the topend.
