At $0.99 a can for flat black, it set me back several dollars.

For a proper paint job on a full fairing bike (one color) you're looking at in the range of 22 hours work. Find out the labor rate.

Only take it to a place that does bike painting, because it's not at all like painting a car. And anyone who says that it is has no idea what they're talking about.

You may have to do your own R and R

I doubt that buying new plastics will run you less... but there are factors to consider.

Is there any prep that you need done? Blemishes, cracks, etc that need to be fixed prior to painting?

Are you doing any of the work on it yourself and then just sending it out to prime and paint?

I'm not a painter, but know people who are. You're probably looking at somewhere around $800-1000 minimum for a standard paint job.

I would PM "Paintguy" and ask him... He's in Atlanta and does straight paint jobs, and major custom work as well.

His user profile is PAINTGUY
.

I'm sure he can give you an idea of what you're looking at, and maybe even make it custom for you for a little more. Hope that helps.
