Just noticed friend put on front tire....

Wow, I had a friend put some new tires on for me, and today was checking pressure and noticed he put front tire on backwards. Now im not sure if he put it on the rim backwards or just turned it backwards right before putting it on. Now whats the backlash if i left it like that or should i go thru the whole process of having it put back right? Now is there a way to see if the tire was put on the rim backwards which i dont think so, butjust in case or just have him spin tire with rim around?

There should be an arrow somewhere on the rim and also on the tire. They should be facing the same direction. And yes, I would have it put on correctly.

not sure it will affect much unless your riding in the rain alot..... never ran one backwards myself so ???? but if it was me i would swap it around to being the right direction.. may have to do with how belts are designed into the tire etc...

Change it to the correct direction , the arrows are there for a reason, dont find out the hard way WHY.

Rotation and balance marks
One of the more critical marks on a motorcycle tire is the rotation arrow, or arrows. Today's specialized tires generally have a tread pattern that must go in only one direction. Some manufacturers even state that their tread patterns are designed to disperse water, and by mounting the tire backwards, they won't work.

The other big reason for noting wheel direction has to do with the manufacturing process. The tread rubber is initially a flat strip that's cut to length, at an angle, and then spliced together with the two ends overlapping, creating a hoop. Under acceleration, a tire mounted backwards will try to peel back this splice. The opposite is true for the front wheel, where directional forces are reversed under hard braking.

Another mark to look for when mounting a tire is a painted balance dot, or dots. Most tires are pre-balanced by the manufacturer. They will then put a mark on the tire indicating where the valve stem should line up.
