92 zx-7 making me crazy

please help me..... 92 zx-7 17xxx miles just recently got it looks like a tweeker bike... when i got it it wouldnt start. replaced batt. drained fuell ect. finally starts and idles but will not rev. who ever had it before me took all the gas lines off exept one going from the gas tank to a huge filter to the pump to the carb. no petcock.. has the stock airbox but no emission stuff i can start it and it will idle but as soon as i put throttle on it it dies. if i put the choke on it the rpms go straight up to 6 or 7x. pulled the carbs off cleaned out completley, mixture is set to 2.5 turns and the needles are at one below center. (the c clip is one notch down from center) the jets are as follows. #1 factory 135k #2 some wierd k symbol 138 #3 same k symbol 138 #4 factory 135k. the pilots are all 35. stock exaust but it looks like someone welded a diff mid pipe thingy. someone recomended changing the jets to #1 145 #2 142 #3 142 #4 145 with the pilots being 42. please help me this thing is giving me a migrane. the carbs are cvks with the round slides

Check and make sure the gas line isnt kinking when you put the tank down I had the same problem on my 7 If they replaced the line the O E M line has a elbow formed into it so it wont kink. I bought a spring you put over the line so it wouldnt kink. It still gets enough gas to start and idle but when you give it gas it will bog and die.

i synced the carbs and it runs smooth but one problem, the third carb isnt sucking anything. is this due to valve issues? and if soo how do i do that?

1. Don't run the engine any more than you have to until your valves are set right*
2. perform a compression check, on a warm engine, to verify each cylinder's PSI (~150+). If any <150 PSI, suspect valve adjustment or worn piston rings
3. At the very least pull the cam cover off and check proper valve clearances
3. Buy a repair manual so you'll know exactly what is involved and what tools/parts you'll need. Here's how it's done on a ZX-9r.

* one cylinder not drawing air could be indicative of its exhaust valves not closing. Running an engine like this is a good way to burn the exhaust valves, leading to an expensive repair.
