My starter solonoid keeps going bad????? HELP PLEASE!!!

Hi all, I am new to this site and just want to see if I can get some good help or advice with a frustrating problem I keep incountering with my 1995 ZX9R. I bought it in great condition with 36 K on it. Had the carbs professionally cleaned to get it running strong. I replaced the battery as well. It ran good for about a week or so and then after letting it sit overnight, when I tried to start it, the starter would crank for a second then stop suddenly. Then only clicking coming from the starter relay solonoid when I tried hitting the button over and over. I did some research and figured it was the solonoid so put in a used one and it seemed to work for another 4 days or so and then the bike would do the same thing after sitting for an extended period of time. Just the clicking from solonoid again. I bit the bullet and bought a brand new one from Kawasaki for 100 bucks! this solved the problem nicely for a month straight. Started up everytime. And now today after sitting for a week, the problem is back! My solonoid keeps getting fried somehow??? As I said, the battery is new, and wiring and fuses all look good. I did the screwdriver trick on the solonoid today and the starter cranked over and got it running which indicates its the relay thats bad....But my question is...why does the solonoid keep going bad on me??? Please any help with this one would be great.

the starter relay switch gives the starter the juice so if its bad normaly that would make the bike not start and therefor put to much stress on the starter if you keep trying to start it so change the relay and if the starter cyl. still is a problem you have a loose wire that is grounded and it is messing up that part so look around the bike for any wires that are grounded

ok it may not be the starter solenoid.. i would check your starter switch contacts in the switch pod on the bars and make sure its clean.... could be dirt, spider web etc.. if that shows good then make sure all cables are clean/tight etc.... could be the starter is getting bad spots in it....

im not sure where your relay is located but on my zx7 it was doing the same thing and it would work if i tapped the relay up against the frame to knock whatever loose inside the relay. on mine something else had to have been wrong because i bought a new relay and it didnt fix the problem at all, i think somehow the neutral safety switch was preventing the bike from cranking over, then all the sudden my problems went away completely... so i guess what im trying to tell you is check over all the electronics in the starting system
