Noise coming from fuel tank

Hi,
i know it,s maybe a silly question, but after washing my 2006 zx636r. I went out on the bike and noticed a squelling nosie coming from my filler cap. stopped the bike and opened filler cap. there was a woosh of air when cap was opened. It,s like i getting a vacuum within the tank. Is there breather ports on the filler cap.? is this doing any damage to the bike..?

cheers

No, it's normal.

Old news. Totally natural...it's your tank venting.

I would have to agree with JBear and Shifty. But to be on the safe side there is a breather tube that comes down on the left side of the bike. You may want to check it to make sure it isn't kinked if it is bothering you that much.

These other posters are crazy...there is something horribly wrong with your bike, and it's not even worth taking it somewhere to get it looked at. Now because of this, it will be in your best interest to stop riding it, box it up, and send it to me. Heck, I'll even do you a favor and pay for shipping...aren't I such a nice guy.

J/K (for anyone who for whatever reason found that offensive), but like everyone stated, it's perfectly fine. Happy riding!
