New exhaust, new problem!

okay, so i installed a slip on yoshimura exhaust on my 06' Ninja zx6r. while doing this process there was some type of damper that was wired from the stock exhaust to under the seat. i disengaged it (because it was attached to the stock exhaust) and now my fi light is on. to tell you the truth i have no idea what that assembly is, and if i should completely disconnect it or not.. i seriously need a opinion lol !!

I suggest getting or making the fix just in case you end up having an FI problem in the future.

Here is just one link to the kit. It's called SERVO OVERRIDE FI LIGHT FIX.

well that pice with the wires is like a cold start controller. and you need it. there is a piece you can get from leo vince and a few other companies. it basically gets rid of the wires that come from the controller and the piece you will need basically fits on the controller and gives the controller a false reading that everything is okay.
when you recieved the yoshi exhaust was it new. if so look through the box and or look on the instructions, you should have recieved something that will eliminate that problem. hope this helps

would not risk it. You never know when you may have an issue that would involve the FI light

Or, you can do what most people do and just remove the cables, leaving the servo motor plugged in. It will make it's noises and go through it's articulation when you start the bike up, weigh a few ounces, and affect nothing... including the FI light.

06 636 exhaust servo problem

you can measure how far the exhaust servo travel with the cables on it and make a half moon piece to go on it to take the place and it will fix the fi light . but if you want to be simple buy the servo eliminator from http://www.ivansperformanceproducts.com/tre.htm
