Wiring resistor.

I bought an aftermarket ignition switch for my 2001 ZX6R and on the new switch it has a green and orange wire instead of white on the new switch. I'm trying to solder the resistor into the switch to get my bike to start. Does anyone have any advice

I would be inclined to check the switching is correct before proceeding by metering the terminals.

The resistor goes in series with the grey wire, assuming that you have one.
You could always cut the grey wire from the connector and solder the resistor in series with it.

If you look at this wiring diagram there should be 2 white wires, did you mean you have a green wire and an orange wire in place of the two of them?

A ROTM winner yes, really! Blame bungles & WillZX14
