questions about slipon exhaust install.

ive installed a kr slipon on my zx6r 636. pipe went on good, media and review will soon follow. But i do have some questions, if someone wouldnt mind answering.

1. From a cold startup, the bike's idle pulsates. prolly about high 1300rpms and low 1000rpms and it stabilizes/becomes steady after riding around for a bit. is this normal?

2. Is there a possibility the exhaust could be causing the engine to run lean? I plan on installing a k&N filter today, will this cause it to run lean, in conjunction with the exhaust? What r the symptoms of being lean.

3. A friend helped me in the disassembly of fairings, and covers. He had to leave before the job was done. there's a rubber mud flappy thing. Where does that go?

opening up the exhaust causes over scavenging, which casuses a lean condition. It can very well cause that pulsing problem. A lean condition results in a lack of power, hesitation, pulsing idle,etc. not to say that you'll have every symptom... The air filter won't affect it that much at this point, but you do need to correct the problem with a PCIII, juice box, or some sort of fuel management system.
