the one i'm on these days is a '97 Duc 900 sp... looked at the 996 back in 97, but i'm 6'2.. and i do 5-600 mile trips a lot... sorry 996..
anyway.. i'm about to hit 40 grand on the odo.. i have never commuted on this one.. it's all weekends and road trips... now you can see why a ZX14 sounds sooooo good.. just waiting to see the colors of the '09's...
i've heard yellow, blue, and a dark red color... might be looking to get that saphire blue '08 if that's true.. we'll see. getting hard to wait..

i'm moving this month, but next month..
i've got my eye on an '06 999s with 2400 miles. must have been a living room bike. i think the triple 9s are more comfy than thre 1098s. my buddy takes 400 mile trips on his. i would be warn out, sore, etc. if i did that on my ten. i've talked to a few duc riders. Can you think of a good reason not to trade my bike for the duc? I'm riding florida backroads on the weekends, no commuting.

well clarkmannning... trading a ten for a 999?...
owning a Duc.. i'll tell you this... they are more expensive than your Kawi in every way... parts, service, insurance, maintenance... and they steer a lot heavier.. ( more strength on the bars to lean her over)..
but i like a bike that doesn't need a steering dampener.. and i REALLY like the twin motor... so much torque.. and the sound of the pipes are like an old chevy... nice...
the Duc will feel a lot different than a japanese bike.. take some getting uesd to the sound of the dry clutch as well... try to get a ride on the 999 first... if you like it... nab it... you can always ride it for a while... and change again...

My ZX6R is at 22,037 running perfectly.. Sadly I've only been responsible for 337 of them =(
many more to come though, best bike I've ever owned!
