bought first bike... Problems!!!!

05' zx6r bike has been laid down b4...

what it needs
left oil case cover...
new battery
rear brake lever w/assembly
front fairing

i heard the bike start 2days ago and just picked it up for $1500.00 steal right...

problem is i got the battery charged but its not getting fuel. tank is full
didnt have oil so i put synthetic race 4t 10w30 till the glass was half full

under the seat i think is the fuel pump, but there are throttle wires i think disconnect and the fuel throttle wont return to its position it sticks

i dont know much about bikes at all like i said first bike. any suggestions on the fuel not getting to the engine problem??? any help would be awesome!
is there a fuel cut off switch? dont think so but thought i would ask.

the bike either was stolen or attempted to be stolen the ignition is broken off so i need a new one of those too but $1500 couldnt go wrong and got the pink slip clean and clear.

so any suggestions would help thanks guys and btw this is my first post:) take it easy

Well for starters the fuel pump is in the tank not under the seat. And have you replaced the ignition yet? Check ALL your wires to make sure they are connected .It's pretty self explanatory all the plugs are ether shaped diffrent or color coded.

Next does it try and turn over??? If so problem will probolably be you TIP sensor. On most bike can be found under the front seat neer the back of the tank. Make sure its sitting with the top side up (wire side down)... The TIP sensor tells the fuel pump not to pump if the bike is on it's side... so if it's not siting how it needs to be the bike can think it's on it's side.

Start from there and let me know whats up........

thanks a lot... the ignition has not been fixed yet but does work with any key lol.

it tries to turn over we started it for like 5seconds with ether.

and when we try and start the guage blinks FUEL with an orange light.

under the seat there is a wire that came out of the plug but we played with that and nothing happend.

the main thing i think is wrong is under the front seat behind the battery is a metal box with 2 metal hoses going into it. and a throttle wire wrapping around a whell with no tension, the there are two throttle wires just hanging there next to a butterfly lever! when i turn the key to start the bike this moves back and forth. so i think it has something to do with fuel??? and the throttle sticks will not return to original position. i will play with it more tonight!

Maybe your throttle cables are hung up or pinched when you disconnected them. If you rerouted them in a way that they are making a tight loop they cannot move freely and will cause the throttle to not open or close freely.

And for piece of mind have the VIN # checked with DOT to see if it is clean.

Good luck with it, have fun, and wear proper gear

hey finally called a shop and found out what the cables were under the seat and i guess its the exhaust servo and cables... it has a yosh pipe on it so that makes sence they would b disconnected.

have never rerouted any wires on it and the shop would tell me what to start with as far as the fuel delivery problem. they said maybe a bad fuel pump.

anyone know if i coulda maybe blown the fuse? where is it located?

Fuses on most new bikes are front left side some have them under the seat. But test the pump just get some wire and hook it to the battery and see if it works.. If it does work that way check the fuses if there OK find the TIP sensor under the set behind the tank and make sure it's siting in there right. Let me know how it goes.....

looked at bike tonight.... cant find the fuse box but there is a black box under the left handlebar with 2 black hoses going into it?

i think the tip sensor is that little black relay thing to the right of the battery behind gas tank not sure.

first we thought it was getting fuel then theres fuel coming out of the exhaust so we thought it was flooded so we tried pull starting it no go...

now we think its not getting spark:( idk what to think anymore but ima take it to a shop tomorrow morning for $75 they'll tell me whats wrong. so we"ll see unless i get any new suggestions tonight.
