'94 ZX9R, easy question, pics! [Rad]
Hey guys,
This might be an easy one for anyone that has the same model bike as mine, but I had a radiator hose that pierced, and after having changed it, I noticed that this hose wasn't plugged into anything.. Can anyone tell me where the hose in the red circle is supposed to be plugged? I'm guessing the blue circle is the overflow, so I'm not worried..
Thanks!
Cory

I don't see a cap on the rad.. I even unbolted the 3 bolts holding the rad in place to get a better view, can't see ANYWHERE that this would be plugged.. Hmmm, thanks for the reply.. Maybe I should just bring it to a bike garage..

I'm telling you it connects just under the cap.... How else do you expect water to flow into the resvor?????

I'm not saying I don't belive you.. I'm saying I unmounted the rad to get a better view all around and I don't see a cap on the rad.. Maybe on your 98 there's a cap on the rad but not on the 94-97? If you want, I can post pictures of the rad too..
If you goto http://www.bikebandit.com/assets/sch...1LCA_E3032.gif and click on "Cooling System" then "Radiator", you can kindof see how my rad is made.. There's no cap! And the schema doesn't show me where that hose goes either.. lol
Whoever helps me fix this, gets $10 via Paypal.. So far, seems like it's gonna be dirty13south!

Just so everyone knows, the reason I had SUCH a hard time figuring out where the overflow plugs, the idiot that had the bike before me, apparently had a leak from the cap/thermostat, and just removed the piece, and replaced it with a piece of hose.. The prestone that was in the system was stuck in the system without a purge or thermostat.. lol Does anyone have a picture of where the cap/thermostat is supposed to be, just so I'm sure it's the right spot? When sitting on the bike, on the right hand side, between the cowler and the fairing?
PS: Dirty, it's been sent, thanks for the help..

I'm looking at that schema.. OK so the theromostat/cap goes on that hose, but where does that hose go!? Grr, bike season is almost done, and here I am trying to fix this crap for almost a moth now..
Edit: k, nvm, hose A plugs onto hole A.. Got it.. Like I said, he replaced it with hose.

Wow, so basically, I need the housing with the thermostat and cap, etc, and both hoses that attach.. Anyone know a cheaper place to get it?

you can just cut the hose you have on there now in half and it will work fine. As for the houseing I'd try E bay shouldn't be more than 20 or 30 bucks.
Thanks for the cash really didn't expect it though THANKS!

No problem! I said that I'd give $10 to anyone that helped me find the problem.. It might not have fixed the prob, but I know what it is now.. I also appreciate your patience, cuz I probably made off as a real idiot, "not finding the cap".. lol But now we know why I couldn't find it! =P
