zx6r handling ???'s
I have a couple of buddies up at school, both of which ride r6's (02 and 04) and when i first got my bike (last week) i let them both take it for a ride around the parking lot, and they both had the same thing to say... my steering is hard... really had compared to theirs.. one them suggested there might be a problem with the bike, and the other one said it might have a factory steering damper?? is that true??? today.. me and the kid with the 02 went on a little ride during our break, and i let him take my bike about half way through.. i noticed how much more his was eager to turn, and it feels like i am fighting mine to steer (compared to the r6.... its just a lot harder).. we later came to the conclusion that maybe its just the geometry of the forks... caster wise... he also noted that when trying to lean it over it felt kinda more like the front wants to go one way.. and the rear wants to go another way... do you guys think there is something wrong?? or are they just 2 different bikes that act 2 different ways???

No factory steering damper. And unless you see one sitting on top of your triples, you don't have an aftermarket one either. One thing I do know is that Yamaha really puts a lot of focus on the handling of their bikes. Unless you are noticing something else with the front end of your bike, I would chalk it up to different makers and different models. But just in case, check tire pressure, tire wear, suspension set up for your weight and style, alignment of the forks, and even make sure that your rear tire is lined up straight. It is a used bike, so if you are still really worried something may be wrong then take it to a shop and have someone look at. It's better to be safe than sorry. I really can't tell you without seeing it and riding it.

your buddies ride different bikes and are used to them. anything else is forign and feels weird. the bikes are different makes with different geometry and weight distribution. keep in mind the r6 has always been the feather weight with the most nimble handling up until last year. the 636,while lighter than the 07-08, is still top heavy compared to most other bikes making for a higher turn in effort. your bike is probably fine. my 05 was a bitch to turn too.

alright, well thanks for the vote of confidence.. i was a little worried, but none-the-less, i am going to be taking it this weekend to a shop to have the suspension set up for my fat ass, and ill have em look it over while they are at it to make sure all is well.... sorry for asking a total different question, but i dont wanna flood the board with new threads, i was just wondering if it is normal for the fuel injections to be heard rather well while the bike is running too... that is the only other thing i was a little worried about.

if it doesn't have an aftermarket pipe, then yes it's normal to here the fuel pump a little(high pitch sound). It shouldn't be very loud though.
