clutch slipping?

well I just started riding my 95 zx9r, and when I shift it from neutral down to first, its like it jumps, its not smooth at all. could this be slipping clutch? the guy who sold it to me said he thinks it was low on clutch fluid? also the front tire is balled to no end, you cant even see threads at all, could this make the front end sorta jump? thanks, neil

ok, bleed the clutch line. one more question. the bike sat for 2+ years so I was gonna run some seafoam to clean out the carbs. well before I knew it the whole can had been poured and mixed with only 2 gal. of gas. (16 oz.of seafoam). could this make it hard to start, beings how it is more seafoam than directed? im sure yall are tired of these questions, but im trying to get this bike straight. thanx

As for the sea foam I'd add some more gas to it. It can make it hard to start and it shouldn't really hurt anything but I'd still add a few more gal. just to be safe. As for the hopping It's NOT from the clutch. ALL KAWASAKI's come stock with a slipper clutch. It's made to slip when down shifting at high RPM's so tire doesn't slide out from under you. If you let the clutch out a little slower that will keep it from hopeing on you.
