Red face Lost keys

I'm interested in a 1985 Kawasaki LXi because of the price. Were these decent bikes for the beginner interested in learning to ride (due to gas prices for the car)? Also, which is easier, removing the ignition or removing the gas tank in order to take it to dealer for a new key? There are no keys for it.

Thank you

Im not familiar with your bike, but I have removed some ignitions and some tanks. I would say removing the tank would be much easier than messing with the ignition. Since the tank is designed to come off for routine maintenance. And the ignition is designed to be very hard to remove as a theft deterrent.
