Also sounds like a vacuum problem to me. Like the carb boots are loose and its sucking air. I've done that before and it makes the bike bog bad. I would check all the boots and air lines, etc. When the bike is running you can spray a little carb cleaner at the area you think may be leaking. If it is leaking, it will suck up the carb cleaner and cause the motor to rev. thats an easy/quick way to find vacuum leaks.
