i will bet any money its because of an o2 sensor problem...u may have to take it to the dealer and have them run a program to re-map the bike for your pipe

the o2 sensor monnitors the air to fuel mixtue in the bike through teh exhaust gasses comming out...so if it was maped for a more constritive exhaust or if there was a catiletic convertor that was taken out to install the pipe..the senser could be reading wrong and running a leaner or richer mixture of air/fuel then needed....with a FI bike most of the time the bike has to be re-maped to correct the diffrence...with a carb. bike it has to be re jetted. ......now as for cost if you wanted to spend a little more money you could get a powercommander and a FI controler for your bike..make alot of power, have a ton more settings and the touch of a button, and have the freedom to re map your bike anyway you choose with download able maps from the web site they provide. i would take it to the dealer first and let them run teh check light and see what code it throws..if it throws an o2 then you know it needs to eb re maped most likly but if it throws somthing elce you can go from there.....let us know what happeds hope i was help

i ran in to this when i put on my first exhaust. if you put it on your self there should have been a wire that ran to a butterfly valve in your stock exhaust. it looks more like a cable that attached to a cam or something... you should hear it when you put the key in to the start position. its that thing turning under your seat. well there should have been a metal piece that came along with their exhaust. you must instal that "L" or "J" shaped aluminum piece where that thing is spining and that stops the FI light.

thats the easiest way i can explain it..

If you have the power commander USB and you bring it to a qualified guy that has a dyno it will cost a lot... i know from experience but if you load the generic map from the site (assuming again you have the Power Commander USB III) its relatively cheap... [not really recommended, because every engine is different. but it gets it in the ball park...]
