Question 1994 zx9r front sprocket change

ive had my 94 zx9 for about a year now and i would like to put a chain and sprocket conversion on it,can any one tell me wether or not the front sprocket is bolted on or pressed on or both ?i havent taken the case off but if its pressed on then im not going to bother.
and does any one know a good brand to go with?

its just a nut on a spline shaft,i think about 100 ft lb but there's a washer with a tab that needs to be folded back. i think RK sells a kit for the 9, good luck

ZX9R Sprocket Conversion

ZX9Guy,
I did a sprocket conversion on my 98 ZX9R. It's a easy modification. I went with one tooth smaller on my front sprocket and 2 teeth larger on my back sprocket. Thrust Performance offers a kit that includes, (front sprocket, rear sprocket, chain). Price was very reasonable. I highly recommend this product.
You will sacrifice a little top end speed but it's quicker of the line. Also allows you to get the front end up with ease. You have to fit the chain that comes with the kit and need a chain break tool to press new linkage together.

ouch!

the 9r has a crush washer that is meant to be curled around the edges of the retaining bolt.

good luck!
