1400GTR 12 volt accessory leads
Gents
I want to attach a GPS to the 12 volt accessory leads under the front left fairing. But can't seem to find them. Can any one shed light on where this cable is hiding.
Cheers

Welcome to the forum CJM.
Glad to see another Brit here. The UK contingent grows by the week.
The front ACC leads are inside a rubber boot under the left inner fairing cover.
Which is the black plastic cover where you would expect to find a glove box or something.
Turn the handlebars to the right and remove the screws holding the inner cover on. You can lift the inner cover up enough to get at the rubber boot without removing the windscreen and pushpin. So no real need to remove the whole inner cover. Just be carefull when you prise out the tabs at the back and don't bend the cover up too much. Remove the screen and pushpin and completey remove the inner cover if you are unsure. Fish the leads out of the rubber boot.
Two leads. One Black which is POSITIVE 12V
One Black/Yellow which is NEGATIVE
Look here for Fred's excellent picture guide

Welcome CJM; and from the most wonderful part of Britain too; my wife adore the Lake District and visit each year. (I'm new here too; but what a great forum); and the GTR.. well, that's awesome !

Hello, good evening and welcome
Welcome to the group.
When you come to get at the rear acc leads, you have to dig even deeper!
I couldn't have done it without Fred's guide.

Gents
Thanks for the help and advice, most appreciated. HITMAN I’m well impressed with the link you posted for me, thanks. JIS I have had quite a few bikes over the past 35 years and agree with you that the 1400GTR is awesome.

You need a vandal! They are not very tight (at least mine weren't). Mine came out easy enough using a very large and freshly square ground screwdriver pushed firmly into the slot. The sharp edges of said driver dug in. You could drill and use screw extractor or just drill heads off, remove box and take rest out with pliers. I havent got a clue why they use those screws in that spot. I replaced with St Stl button heads. Cheap from ebay.
Good luck.

PS £5 arrived this morn. Cheers. j

Same with my tool box,
I got to the rear Accesory leads by taking off this bit of plastic.
 pic by Fred.
Then you can remove this big bit of plastic
 thanks again Fred..
Now you can move the blanked plugs and ECU out of the way ,
After that its the same as Freds guide here ---> http://www.pbase.com/fredharmon/accleads
Stu..

found em by removing the plastic as per bagman, tried getting anti vandal screws out with sharp screw driver and hammer all i did was break the tool kit box lid off,i am slowly trashing my bike, got super glue on the right side plastic when putting on heated grips, spun out 1 hex head when putting on air horns and droped the bloody thing when it was only 3 weeks old, im allmost afraid 2 touch it now.

Hammer???? Eek, I just used very square ground blade and held it tight against the screw slot and juts unscrewed them. Glad you got sorted.
