Your welcome to call in when you are passing, just got the first 600 on mine so looking forward to giving it a bit more beans as soon as it stops raining! Drop me a line 'Autodesk001@btconnect.com' if you fancy meeting somewhere for a chat,
cheers

Seems to me like we have the makings of a UK GTR1400 club with (potential) members dotted all over England. I'll trawl this thread and make a list of "us"; could be a good meet

Don't forget that some of us are trying to meet up at the ACE cafe in April for the Kawasaki Day. Could be a good time to reserve a corner of the carpark for all of us from this forum.
see this thread.

Who's up for it.?

Yikes this appears to be a dating site; I couldn't see any spares for the GTR there (except maybe a pillion or two )

That worked (not as exciting though); a bit like whitehouse.com as opposed to whitehouse.gov

Here's some more pics of a corbin seat on the c14

http://s257.photobucket.com/albums/hh226/jsolo1100/C14/

There's two pics that do a good job of showing the profile of the stock vs corbin seat.

I'm roughly the same height as another poster, 6' with a 32" inseam.

The general riding position is a little further back. An inch or so I'd say? I have stock bars and have no intention of installing any helibars, so we'll see how well this position translates into actual riding comfort once it warms up some out here.

The seat does lower you some as well. Probably a good 3/4" or more. I noticed right away my knee angle was different, and the shifter will have to be readjusted slightly upward.

The two piece design looks good too and is much easier to remove/install than the stock seat.

Hopefully money well spent.

This is really nice, but what I am looking for is a decent pillion seat with backsupport for my wife. But is has to be in the context of a topcase. At the moment I can only find either, or; and no both !

1. The standard seat is too hard for my ageing behind (that’s the polite word for “butt” !!); so, which one will provide me with the greater comfort?
2. The standard screen is too low; ordering the optional extended screen from Kawasaki is easy; but is the screen any good; how much taller is it; or is the Cee Baileys Euro Cut shield the way to go (post purchase)?
3. The Kawasaki top box, a 39 litre job (which looks like it’s made by Givi) is “OK” but I’d prefer a larger case. Seeing as I shall buy a black GTR (so cool!) which case would you guys recommend, please?
4. The rear suspension on the test bike I rode was already on the softest setting; does it “give” a bit as it made for a fairly harsh ride over some of the more bumpy roads?

Thanks guys; getting very excited about joining the “fold”; it’ll be my first Kawasaki!

Hi John, just seen your post whilst searching for info on seats. I had a GTR for 6 months and did 6,000 miles. I had to change the screen and seat. I've changed the bike now so have a Calsci large screen, a brand new Corbin 2 peice seat (badly timed gift) and an ally mounting plate for the E52 top-case for sale. I was going to post the detail but drop me a pm if yo're interested. The good news is I too live in Tunbridge Wells so we could easily arrange to meet up. I'll try and post a few pics.
