AreaP mid-pipe turning gold?
About a month after I installed my AreaP exhaust on my C14, I noticed that the mid pipe was turning gold in color. I thought it was because of the CATs just ahead of it and the heat that comes from that. Even the tip of the muffler, not the back of the can, had turned a goldish color.
I was amazed that some "Mothers" Aluminum polish and a little elbow grease plus a few terry-cloth rags removed all of the gold oxidation and the pipe is a gorgeous shiny silver again. It must just be the heat and oxidation that caused it.. the pipe itself is NOT discolored from the heat.
Just wanted to pass this on incase others are having the same condition on their AreaP. Make sure you get all the Mothers off before you fire up the bike.
