Nice job James, I will be very interested in reading your performance comments when you can finally get out on the bike.
We still have rideable weather down in Devon and I have managed a few 100 miles over the last few weeks.

I tried this same windscreen but found it a little too short. I exchanged it for the taller version, not as nice looking, but gives perfect protection for me. I'm 5'-10"", and look over it a few inches. I would give them high marks for customer service.

Screen update
I went out today. Sunny but cold. Roads dry ish. Lots of salt so had big wash when I came back.
If you want to sit in a still air cocoon, then get the taller screen. I am 5' 11" normal leg length. If I duck down slightly, I am in still air (if I wanted that I would drive the car!)
Up to 70mph, I dont even need to duck and can ride with visor up. At 100mph (err hello officer...) there is some wind. It reminds me I am on a bike!
I think however that the larger screen would look bladdy orful.
Next farkle? (Fred Harmon are you listening?): How about a relay/device/gubbinge which automatically lowers the screen when the ignition is turned off. Oh yes!
BTW, my home made rear rubber hugger flap works superbly.
Next Farkle: I think the bottom 100mm or so of the fairing *scoop" (below the rad) would benefit from being filled in. (the sort of upturned vee) The fender xtender is, IMHO about 50mm short. I shall post pics. It wont affect cooling but will keep crap off the pipes.

That screen lowering thingymejig should be straightfoward. I'll look in to it. As an electrical engineer, I'm sure I can come up with something simple.

Hi chaps; my first post here; considering I only rode the GTR for the first time yesterday. I need to replace my current bike (the BMW K1200GT) and tried the GTR1400 yesterday; GREAT bike.
However, the screen is too low, so i was told about the Kawasaki optional higher screen. You though have opted for the Cee Baileys Screen; reason?
I'll enquire about the hatd seat in a separate post !
Thanks!
John

Range of options. Quality. Simple.
Lots of bad press about the Calscii screen.

On the other hand I have put the Cal Sci +6" screen on mine and I am as happy as a dog with 2 D*cks with it..
I am 5' 12" and at 90% up it gives me that quiet zone that I want for long shleps down the M5, and also drops low enough for a bit of sporty riding,,
Stu..

Nice to hear it worked well for ya. When you were experimenting with the upper limits (100+ anyone? ) did ya notice if the screen flexed or was it stable like the factory one.

Hi; can you tell me exactly which screen you bought and from where?
Let em get this right; you're all (?) saying that the factory optional taller screen (£130 / $260) is rubbish?

Hello Philip; so you feel that the "EuroCut" screen is still a little too low and went for the "Ultra Tour Domed Shield" ? What do you think; have you got some pictures for us? Thanks !

I love the way the bike feels with the standard OEM screen. Feels like you're riding a bike not driving one. However I have ordered the Eurocut for when I am touring with the wife...just to keep her happy . Hate to get one any bigger and spoil the lines of the bike. Had a BMW LT1200 and that had a barn door on it. Great for comfort but I kept falling asleep and it didn't do anything for my adrenalin fix.

hey guys, been a while since I've been here but thought I'd chime in on this.
The Euro cut large (not tour) does well at speed. I did not notice it flexing too much at 150+. As noted you have to duck slightly if at 6' or more. I love it for the winter.
I'm looking for a smaller than stock screen for the summer if anybody knows of one. The stock one got scratched up pretty bad from normal use. I've been modifying it (cut it down and painted it black). I'm going to add some polyurethane to it and see if it can hold up to bugs and cleaning.

We Yanks would call that an even 6'. (Sorry, just had to though.)
I just replaced my Calsci +6" for the Cee Bailey euro cut (+5"). The Calsci provided enough protection for my 6'2" frame that at full up I could hear my tunes via the Starcom just fine. I switched to the Cee Bailey only because I was unhapply with the quality of the Calsci. Yep the CB is 1" shorter, but it does offer a reverse lip at the top. The CS is just curved without the reverse lip (one plane only is curved). I am expecting the CB to be just fine.
I am also concerned about going too large. Aerodynamic drag puts a lot of load on the windscreen mechanism. Stick your arm out next time and consider it's frontal area with the added area of a larger screen. I wanted protection without going ape and possibly bending and damaging the mounting points with the extended use this type of bike gets. The larger Kawi screen is still smaller than either of the two above, perhaps there is a reason why. I am sure neither CS nor CB have performed extensive load tests on the mechanism with their larger screens. You use them at your own risk.

Mmm; interesting point. Now, philipintexas has got the CB Ultra Tour screen which is even taller than the Eurocut. He can provide some user feed back (if he's reading these threads). If not, suggest you PM him. I would be very interested in the reply as I too propose to order the CB Ultra Tour !
