Hello from new member

Just bought a new 2008 Concours about 1 1/2 weeks ago. I had been seriously considering the FJR for a while. I had been given a $60.00 gift certificate for the local Honda / Kawasaki dealer as a Christmas gift last year (2006). The gift certificate was going to expire Decmber 20th, so on December 14th I stopped in to spend it on a pair of gloves or something. When I walked in the dealers front door the Concours was the first bike I saw. I checked the bike out real well and then went and looked at gloves. I kept finding myself back at the Concours, so I used my gift certificate as a down payment and picked the bike up seven days later after returuning from bussiness trip. So far I have only managed 50 miles, and I'm jonesing for some remotely decent riding weather. My first 50 miles was on a rainy, windy, cold day and I would prefer to scuff the new tires a bit on dry pavement before really doing any seroius riding. I can't wait, so I thought I would do the next best thing, which was check out what I could find on the internet. That's how I found your group, so I will sufing your forum a little and thought I would say Hello.

By the way, I can't wait to see what kawasaki has out for next year as my boss gave me another gift certificate for Christmas (wife is not happy).

Hi Ron. Take her for a ride. She'll love it. I took mine for her first ride in October on my Vstar, which I've had since 2004. She loved it, wanted to ride more. "Not on that bike. We're upgrading." One week later I had the Connie - after also actually trying to buy an FJ.

Welcome and greetings from down under Ron. Are you in one of those places that has that wet cold white stuff everywhere at the moment? My partner just loves the bike and reckons it is easily the best we have had so take yours out on it and get her hooked. Happy wife=happy life.

Hey Ron, Welcome to the forum. Ah that nice new bike smell in the garage... Take your time and get to know her well... she's a hell of a dancing partner. And if you have questions, we most likely have answers.. There is a vast knowledge of C14/GTR owners here, and the best part about this forum is, we all like to help each other.

Welcome, Congratulations on the new bike, and Happy New Year!

See you on the road,

Jerry

Ron, welcome to the forum and congrats on the purchase.

There's actually a number of us from the midwest here. Actually, probably less here than on concours.org. I can think of at east 3 or 4 others from IN. I'm from chicago my self. Far north side of the city actually.. Near northwestern univ.

You actually bought during a good time.. There's been considerable development in the aftermarket than than there was 6 months ago.

Enjoy!

Welcome Ron, I'm sure you will find more aftermarket parts and info than you ever wanted to know on the Concours 14 sites.

I live in IN too. I'll send you an email.

We at the newly commercialized kawiforums in a not so good disguise Welcome you. It really is a good site, don't pay to much attention to my rant. If I was to upset about the change I wouldn't have posted this, basically I chose the people in this site over change so stick around and enjoy.
