Rip Off Britain. Rant About Bike Prices

Nicked from another thread on here and I feel so cross I thought it worth another thread/cross (no pun intended!) post.

$12k US is about £6K GBP Sterling. The GTR1400/Concours 14 sells in the UK for £10K -£11K. Another example of how we get ripped off in Britain

True enough... but I bet you pay much less for BMW, Saabs, Ferraris, and Lambos than we do over here.

I wouldn't know, but you may be correct. Out of my league tho If I hade enough money to buy one of those I wouldnt be worrying about the price!

That's bad. A good job you are in Sweden then!

So, this begs the question that if the bike is £6K in US and £26 In Denmark. Who gets the other £20K? Kwak or Government tax.
Surely, including shipping and tax it wouldnt cost another £20K to ghet one from the US to Denmark. I guess ther Danes must earn £$plenty.

Well, you'd think Japan is a little closer to Australia wouldn't you???

we pay (I paid):
$AUD22500 for mine, that's GBP 9891.32, EU 13484.36 ($USD 19736.46)

we have a high tax rate on cars/bikes here in Oz... but I saved $AU442,500.00 on the GTR instead of getting an SL65 Merc , so I don't get directional Xenon headlights!?

It's all relative I suppose...cost of living, wages, we here probably have a "year-round-riding-weather TAX"

Greko...Try this thread for ideas http://www.zxforums.com/forums/showt...light=radiator

Although I gather any Radiator guard that fits the ZZR1400 should also fit the 1400GTR which will allow you some choice here in the UK

UK prices are high on everything because of your 17.5% tax, and your dole too, I lived there for 30 years and couldn't take your weather anymore, so moved out to USA 10 years ago.
