Screwed

[quote=Hitman;55892] Unfortuneately the UK spec bikes seem to have security screws in the tooltray so it can't be removed???

I managed to get the security screws out with a freshly square ground large blade screwdriver.

I just bought some (very expensive) stainless steel that can be machined and I'm going to try making them without the pressed-in nylock nut. I'll have to put thread locker on them to prevent them from vibrating loose. There is so little clearance between the tail light and the rack these have to be pretty low-profile and the s.s. gives strength without the bulk of aluminum.
Fortunately Phil, IAAL! I can tell you the practicality of suing someone on a product liability claim in the US, from the UK outweighs the benefits.
Remember Kwaks own rack is made from cheese and their side cases fall off!!!

Just sell your tee nuts in the UK then?

How about selling in UK under a contract governed by US law and under US jurisdiction?
You could also sell the items in the US under a contract governed by English law and under English jurisdiction (lots of US law is English derived):

PROVIDED THAT the buyer signs that he agrees to those terms.

Good heavens, I sound like a lawyer...

Philipintexas,

is it universal for all main producers of top-cases today (Givi, Hepco and Becker, Krauser...), and do You have some list od models which are compatible with Your beautifull mounting-plate (I don't doubt in quality, it's possible to feel it over photos!)??

I'll need some big topcase for two fullface helmets, maybe from Givi or some other quality maker (maybe even "do-it-yourself"), so I'm interested are they compatible with plate? Thanx in advance!

These are a few pictures of SHAD trunks that are sold by Murph. Top to bottom are The 52L, 46L, and 42L trunks. I just finished mounting the SH52 Liter model on my bike today. The SH42 and SH46 have padded backrests that are not shown in these photos. The SH52 holds two full face helmets and is beautifully made. I believe someone has also mounted the GIVI trunk and I also mounted one sold by J.C. Whitney. I am not familiar with some of the names you mentioned, but I think any trunk that has a universal mounting plate can be mounted on my rack. If you need more photos let me know. I have photos of the mounting plates from these three trunks on my rack.

I hate to say it but, the new luggage plate is insufficient for the top trunk. My OEM trunk came in last week. After riding all weekend and listening to my friends talk about it bobbling, I am certain that they need to recall it again! I believe that it will require some type of metal plate to cut the bobble down to a tolerable level. I will say that, I could not feel the trunk at all while riding. I am referring to witness accounts. I will also say that it was empty while doing the bobble head act. Kawasaki, LISTEN UP! Also, congrats to Kawasaki for wining the Daytona 200! Hurray!!!!
