Got this email replay from Philip
QUOTE " If each of you will email me your order I'll invoice each one seperately and include a part of the shipping and then consolidate the orders and ship to your address. This all started as quite a surprise to me so I haven't really gotten an online "store" yet. I am trying to get a better setup but the first priority has been getting the racks produced and verifying the quality. So far I'm really pleased with the quality. Now if I could get more quantity I'd sleep better."
I have placed my order with him. If the UK guys who want a rack do the same he will consolidate all the orders and I have suggested that he post them all to Touchwoodsden.
Order from Philip at this address phham81@sbcglobal.net stating that you are part of the UK contingent.

I have now emailed Philip asking for invoice and given him my works address for delivery. If everyone ordering racks can email me off forum at touchwoodsden at yahoo dot co dot uk
with their individual UK delivery addresses I can get them off PDQ when they arrive. We can sort out delivery costs later and perhaps everyone can send me a cheque on receipt of their rack. I will then know cost of UK post. I suspect a fiver or so.

In Ireland all products worth over €45 (£35) imported from outside the Euro zone are subject to the vat @21% + handling fees. TwD, as the recipient of the order, you will probably have to pay the import duty and charge it back to the others....just a thought

You're right about the duty payable. Quite often though parcels like this slip through without charge.
I don't know how much these racks weigh but if they are under 1.25kg the UK First Class packet post recorded is £4.95 incl vat.

What I cant understand is why Kawasaki did not put a real rack on the bike in the first place instead of the plastic one it would not have cost them much more

Very true, but I have a feeling that when the new optional Kawasaki top box is available with it's own rack mount it may become clear why they have the plastic one. I believe that the plastic one supplied with the bike is just a rack and not designed to carry a top box. We shall see...

I think they just bought a plastic moulding co and want to try out. Plastic pistons next perchance?!!!
Plastic brackets on panniers and on frame to attach them to defies all logic!

I have been answering questions via "private messages" as opposed to doing it with replies here. It occured to me this might give the appearance I'm ignoring some entries. Not the case. To keep everyone current, I'm awaiting another batch of racks from the machine shop that makes them. I hope to have more this week.

Please note: I have changed the ordering procedure. I hope it will provide better service and more feedback to those who have ordered.
