Tire sensor warning

Took her out for a brief ride tonight. Only 50 miles on the ticker. Got a warning on the instrument panel that read " Tire Pressure Sensor R Low Battery". Was wondering if anybody else has seen this with so few miles. Owners manual advises to consult factory dealer.

Also noticed low beam lights only project about 30ft in front of the bike. Is this something that also needs to be adjusted by the dealership.

Very new to sport touring and obviously new to this bike. Plenty of questions.

The lights can be adjusted up or down with the dials on the dash, by the way, the dials tend to work themselves loose and disappear so make sure you put some silicone or other sealant on them. The lights should have been adjusted at the dealer. Tire pressure sensor battery low, return to dealer.

They can also be adjusted Left and Right, by 2 other knobs further down inside/under the headlights.

Dealers should always be doing lots of things pre-delivery... pity not many do. best do your own headlights, not a hard job and they'd be suited to where you want them.
I'd be checking tyres with a gauge as well, the readings don't often seem correct.
Minor things, sure you'll be happy - like most of us here - with the beast, lots of fun!!

Those pressure sensors are supposed to have a 5 year life and are basically sealed so that when the battery goes you need a new sensor, they cost megabucks so most definately get it done under warranty now!

I had the same problem. The problem was that when the dealer changed the rear tire for me he cracked the sensor, he did not notice when it happened and it took a couple of weeks before it showed up as a warning. The battery is supposed to last 5 years and to replace the valve it cost 221.00 here in Canada. And of course you are not able to change the battery in them.

At 500 miles I started noticing the “Tire Sensor R Low Battery” warning. The deal was that after riding about 200 feet the warning would come on. After the tire warmed-up a little it would quit. At the 600 mile service the dealer said it must be a temperature thing and it would most likely go away when the weather warmed-up. A week later the temperatures were in the 70-75F range. Now the tire sensor warning comes on after riding a few yards and stays on until you turn it off. I hope to get the tire sensor fixed when I get the luggage latch warranty work done. As it is now, I can not use any of the other functions (Range, MPG, etc.).

When you get that warning, you can disable it if you press and hold the top button and press the lower button. The red warning light will come on and you can use your other functions. It's clearly spelled out in Japanenglish on pg 50 of the owners manual.

Please read through this thread:

Just SO YOU KNOW--Kawasaki isn't real concerned about YOUR problem. MY bike has been in multiple times and the tire pressure senders STILL DON'T WORK.

Unless something miraculous happens-- considering the "corporate response" this is DEFINITELY MY LAST KAWASAKI.
