New C14

The ride report will have to wait for spring. My new C14 arrives ( via trailer ) tomorrow. Early Christmas present. I'm happy to be joining the Kawasaki Kids.

I've been visiting dealer and sitting on C14's all over Michigan. The one thing I did notice from bike to bike-( as some have lost headlight adjuster knobs) some bikes had the older style knobs, however the C14 I bought now has a set screw installed throught the headlight knob to hold them on !

I've ridden Harley's for more than a few years. The last one was a V-Rod.
I think the Rod was my transition bike that let me know what I had been missing all these years riding well made antiques. The V-Rod was plenty quick and had a REAL transmission ( as opposed to the typical Harley CLUNK box ).
But it also let me know that I wanted more out of riding. And weekend trips while great fun can be even better on a Sport Touring - heavy on the Sport-
motorcycle. I spent a great deal of time looking at the "big four", C14, ST1300, FJR, and K1200GT, and while each offers someting special, the C14 for me is the one bike that made me start looking at Sport tourers in the first place.
See you on the road in the spring. ( THINK WARM !!!!!! Man this could be a long WINTER )

Congrats on your new purchase FBRR and welcome to the Forum. I've got $20 that says you'll be out riding at least once before Spring.

You know the break-in oil isn't any good after 30 days right?

Ride Safe!

I had to buy the bike, I bought Ready2go's 2brothers pipe last week. can't have a pipe and NO BIKE to put it on!!!!!
You would lose your bet about spring ( I wait for the first rain to wash the SALT away ) But the nieghborhood may hear the pipe sooner than that!!!!!

I should add that I did spend most of my "mis-spent" youth on Kawaski's. First on an Avenger 350 and then a 500 triple. ( it-the 500- tried several times to end my bike riding days by shaking it's "head" at an ultra legal speed. I almost bought the H2 when it came out but one short ride on that and I knew "it" would never stop whispering in my ear to GO FASTER !!! I truely hope old age has slowed me down and the C14 "knows" enough to act my age. ( However, the V-Rod never seemed to get that message so the C14 might not either ) I just hope I'm smarter about "picking my spots" to watch that needles clock around the dial !!!!!

I just hope to avoid Hunter S. Thompson's sausage machine !!!!

Same exact bikes I looked at seriously and decided on the C-14...well mines a 1400 GTR now cuz thats what the badges say

I can't imagine having to look at one in the garage all winter and not ride

My sympathy to all you over the northern side... we (well, I...) just whinge about all this rain we're having.... otherwise it's 5C to 15/20C all winter downunder (sorry... had to put those in )

At the moment it's started summer, and after a 5+year long drought (5 year+ perfect riding weather), Sydney atleast, appears to be getting more than it's normal rainfall... otherwise it's more often 28-35C daily, nightly, weekly till around March/April next year...

(wearing my flame-proof singlet now)
